October 8 - November 16, 2003
This show is a celebration of the great variety and diversity of the many churches or houses of worship within our community. The initial premise for the exhibition was the vestment worn by those officiating during a weekly service, exploring the differences and similarities in that particular garment, its symbolism and usage.
Religious TextilesAs the vestment or religious textile is not necessarily of ritual significance for all denominations, an additional object has been included in the exhibition to ensure all are represented.
(If any church is not represented please contact the Gallery’s curator and the oversight will be addressed. We are attempting to acknowledge and include all parts of our community.)
