ROCK PAPER SCISSORS: COLLAGE EDITION

Inspired by our summer exhibitions the Durham Art Gallery and regional magazines are working together to bring you ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS: COLLAGE EDITION. Together we will explore contemporary and historical artists working in collage, mindfulness techniques, working together in community, and outdoor fun!

Cost: $150 for non-members, $125 for members
Maximum: 12 Students

ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS: ART&SCIENCE EDITION

Inspired by our summer exhibitions the Durham Art Gallery is heating things up with a week long summer camp that explores art and science through VOLCANOES! Campers will start the morning off with a cool experiment and end the day with an art project that reflects that experiment! The camp also integrates mindfulness techniques, working together in community, and outdoor fun!

Cost: $250 for non-members, $225 for members
Maximum: 12 Students

Interro String Quartet at The Gallery

The Durham Art Gallery is hosting the Interro String Quartet on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at 2 pm. We would like to thank our generous sponsors Durham Furniture and The West Grey Durham Lions Club. Tickets are $15/members and $20/non-members. Email info@durhamart.on.ca for more information.

Formed in 2017, Interro Quartet combines passionate performances with a curiosity to explore new sounds and venues in chamber music. The group’s repertoire includes works of classical music giants as well as new compositions by emerging and established Canadian composers. Featuring award-winning graduates of University of Toronto, the Interro Quartet includes violinists Steve Koh and Eric Kim-Fujita, violist Maxime Despax, and cellist Sebastian Ostertag. Monday Morning: design your own dragon and other magical creatures (drawing & painting skills)

Monday Afternoon: lost realms, legendary places landscapes and fantasy buildings

Tuesday Morning: unicorns and other magical creatures (drawing & painting)

Tuesday Afternoon: colours of the rainbow

Wednesday Morning: small dragon puppet out of cardboard or Papier-mâché

Wednesday Afternoon: large dragon puppet group project (constructing & painting)

Thursday Morning: design your own castle (drawing, constructing & painting)

Thursday Afternoon: build large castle group project out of cardboard

Friday Morning: designing an avatar human proportions the figure in action illustrate your superhuman powers

Friday Afternoon: working on group castle project
